The marketplace
FreelanceKE is a marketplace for legitimate freelance work worldwide. You must be able to contract and to use a supported payout method. Accounts are for people and businesses doing real work.
Escrow
Buyers fund orders before work is due by card from any country, or with M-Pesa in Kenya. Money is held until the buyer releases it, a dispute is decided, or the order is cancelled under these rules. Paying off-platform to dodge escrow is not allowed.
Fees
Sellers use Connects to propose on jobs. Connects packs are paid by card worldwide, or with M-Pesa in Kenya. Commission is taken from the order amount as shown at checkout (10–15%, default 12%). Earn Extra is separate and uses a 10–20% cut (default 15%).
Withdrawals
Sellers can withdraw from 1,000 units to Payoneer. Kenya sellers can also withdraw to M-Pesa. Payouts are sent after review. Larger payouts may be included in tax files the seller keeps.
Drafts
Writing help on the site produces a draft. You own the text you publish. You are responsible for it.
Conduct
Illegal work, fraud, and survey traffic that is not from an approved partner are not allowed. We may suspend accounts.
Disputes
Either party can open a dispute on the order. Keep chat and files there. Write to disputes@freelanceke.co.ke. Kenyan law applies.
