FreelanceKE strives to conform to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and, where feasible, Level AAA success criteria. We aim to ensure that all users, including those with visual, auditory, motor, cognitive, or other disabilities, can access and use our platform effectively.

  • Semantic HTML structure for screen readers
  • High-contrast color modes and sufficient color contrast ratios
  • Descriptive alt text and aria-labels for images and interactive elements
  • Resizable text up to 200% without loss of functionality
  • Focus indicators that are clearly visible
  • Clear heading structure and logical reading order
  • Error identification and suggestions in forms
  • Language toggle with proper lang attribute updates

Standards & Ongoing Efforts

Our accessibility efforts are guided by WCAG 2.1 AA, Kenyan ICT Accessibility standards, and user testing with assistive technologies (NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack, keyboard-only navigation). We perform regular audits and incorporate accessibility into our development lifecycle.
